Moon Magic

Moon Magic is part of an evolving series of works shaped by the idea of free-form expression. These hand-cut plates are created to resonate with the metaphorical landscapes of both our physical surroundings and inner worlds.

Tetra Stacks are original prints made using inked Tetra Pak packaging materials. Discarded cartons are transformed into a printable matrix, much like a traditional drypoint plate. New designs can be created daily by drawing directly into the coated surface with a sharp needle. The plates are sealed with varnish to extend their printing life.

The resulting prints have a rich, land the plates themselves have a leather-like quality. Impressed markings create highly textured details, while ink settles into the layers, folds, and crevices of the material. I am drawn to the idea that an ordinary object — something that would otherwise be thrown away — can be transformed into a tactile and beautiful print.

The plates can be printed repeatedly, yet each impression remains unique. They could also be reconstructed into sculptural objects to preserve and revisit.
