LOW SUN (one)

This print is from the “Tetra Stack Series,” created using recycled carton packaging as a printing surface. Low Sun is a reminder to appreciate the small things and find calm in the present moment.

I often make a new plate from discarded carton packaging on a daily basis. As I draw into the surface with a fine needle, sometimes peeling back the thin plastic coating before applying ink an idea occurs. I enjoy the rich detail, texture, and unexpected marks that emerge from the folds and creases of the material. As the image develops, it often leads me towards new discoveries.

The prints are produced in small editions, usually between 5–10, depending on how well the plate withstands the pressure of the press. Each print varies slightly in tone and colour, and I value these differences as part of the beauty of analogue printmaking and the ongoing process of exploration.
